  • Six Named Academic All-State

    ASHLAND, Va. – Six student athletes out of Virginia Wesleyan University have been named to the 2018-19 Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) All-Academic Team for their combined performance both in the classroom and on the playing field. Amber Matalus of volleyball, Jacob Pilarski of baseball, Ann Marie Moffett of women’s soccer, Jayla Harris of women’s basketball, Skyler Lattuca of men’s cross country/track and field and Hanna Hull of softball were all selected by the committee.
  • Men's and Women's XC Teams Tabbed All-Scholar

    NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Virginia Wesleyan University men’s and women’s cross country teams were both named Scholar Teams by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). Also receiving recognition was Skyler Lattuca of the men’s team, who earned individual Scholar Athlete honors.

    MOUNT BERRY, Ga. - The men’s and women’s cross country teams competed at the Division III NCAA South/Southeast Regional Saturday in Mount Berry, Ga. The men took home 24th at the meet while the women finished in 29th place.

    WINCHESTER, Va. – The men’s and women’s cross country team’s performed well at the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Championships Saturday morning at the Kernstown Battlefields. The men claimed fifth place, registering a score of 153 in the 8K race. The women took home eighth with a score of 229.

    FREDERICK, Md. – The men’s and women’s cross country teams turned out solid performances at the Hood College Invite Saturday morning. The men’s team placed second with a score of 99 while the women came home with an eighth place finish.

    SALISBURY, Md. - The Virginia Wesleyan University men’s and women’s cross country churned out solid performances at the Don Cathcart Invitational Saturday morning hosted by Salisbury University. The men’s team claimed sixth overall while the women took home 10th.

    WINCHESTER, Va. – The Virginia Wesleyan University cross country team’s had a terrific outing at the Hornet Carrer / Commonwealth Challenge hosted by Shenandoah Saturday morning. The men took home second place as a team while the women finished in seventh on the course that both teams will run on later this season for the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Championships.

    BRIDGEWATER, Va. – The Virginia Wesleyan University cross country teams had solid outings at the Bridgewater Eagle Cross Country Challenge Friday afternoon. The men’s side topped the entire field placing three in the top ten while the women saw success with two runners in the top-20.

    VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – The men’s and women’s cross country teams have released their schedule for the upcoming 2018 season. Both the men’s and the women’s squads will compete in five races with the men running the eight-kilometer races and the women six kilometers.
