VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – The Virginia Wesleyan University women's swim team dropped its contest to Bridgewater, 190-29, Saturday afternoon at home. With the loss, the Marlins move to 2-2 in dual meets against conference opponents.
Despite the team loss, Amanda Waller found success in the 200-yd backstroke. The junior finished the race in 2:43.11, taking down the VWU record by more than 14 seconds. Also excelling personally was freshman Jordan McCowan, who set personal best in all three of her individual races. McCowan shaved time off her 50-yd back (42.44), 200-yd free (2:55.75) as well as her 100-yd back (1:34.47).
Women's swimming returns to the pool at 1 p.m. on Saturday as the squad will travel to Randolph for another dual meet.
