EMORY, Va. - Virginia Wesleyan (4-2-1) dominated from start to finish in their 5-1 victory over Emory & Henry (0-9-1, 0-3) to push their unbeaten streak to three.

The Marlins wasted no time getting things going as Anna Pedicone found the back of the net only 1:20 into the match.

Emory & Henry responded to tie the game at 1 as Eva Hart scored for the Wasps, but the lead did not last long as Brooke Adamchak sent a ball forward that found the head of Alex Davidson, who did the rest to put the Marlins ahead 2-1. Davidson currently leads the team with five goals.

A pair of Marlins registered their first goals of the season has Alexandra Fitz and Sarah Heinbaugh both scored before the first 45 minutes were complete.

Julia Downing also scored her first goal of the season in the 67th minute off of a Ryan Applewhite assist.

Tristen Roberts (4-2-1) earned the win for the Marlins in goal.

Virginia Wesleyan outshot Emory & Henry 36-2.

The Marlins return to action on Oct. 3 at home against St. Mary's (Md.) for a non-conference match up slated to start at 5 p.m.
