STAFFORD, Va. – The Virginia Wesleyan University women's golf team earned sixth place at the Eagle Invitational hosted by the University of Mary Washington over the weekend. The Marlins dished out a two-day score of 754 (+186), totaling 375 on day one and 379 on day two.
Maggie Kingora handed in the team's low scorecard of the week, earning 11th place overall. The junior scored 79 on day one before shooting a 94 on day two. Right behind her were teammates Hannah Turner and Ashlee Bobzin, who claimed 20th and 22nd, respectively. Turner shot an 85 on day one before collecting a 95 on day two. Bobzin churned out a score of 98 before shaving off seven strokes in her day two performance. Sarah Conley rounded out the Marlin scores, shooting a 209 (RD1 – 110 / RD2 – 99) over the two days.
Women's golf will return to action on Saturday as the team heads to York, Pa. for the two-day Spartan Invitational.
