  • Women's Basketball Narrowly Falls to Bridgewater

    VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – The Virginia Wesleyan University women’s basketball team was narrowly edged, 77-74, by Bridgewater Wednesday evening in the Jane P. Batten Student Center. With the result, the Marlins move to 2-6 on the season and go to 1-2 in conference play. Bridgewater earns its first win of the year, going to 1-6 overall (1-1 ODAC).
  • Atkinson's Late Three Propels Women's Basketball to Win

    LYNCHBURG, Va. - It was a Bianca Atkinson 3-pointer in with just eight seconds left that helped propel the Virginia Wesleyan University women’s basketball team to a 59-58 win over Randolph on the road Saturday afternoon. With the win, the Marlins improve to 2-5 in the season and 1-1 in conference play.

    ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. - The Virginia Wesleyan University women’s basketball team fell, 68-61, to North Carolina Wesleyan College Sunday afternoon on the road. With the loss, the Marlins move to 1-5 on the season while the Battling Bishops improve to 4-1.

    ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. - The Virginia Wesleyan University women’s basketball team dropped its contest to Averett University, 63-49, Saturday evening at the North Carolina Wesleyan University Tournament. With the result, the Marlins move to 1-4 on the season while the Cougars go to 3-2.

    WINCHESTER, Va. - The Virginia Wesleyan University women’s basketball team fell, 57-46, in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) opener to Shenandoah on the road. With the loss, the Marlins fall to 1-3 on the year and drop to 0-1 in conference play.

    FREDERICKSBURG, Va. - The Virginia Wesleyan University Women’s Basketball team dropped their game against Mary Washington 73-37 in the Hyatt Place Tip-Off Tournament. With the result, the Marlins move to 1-2 on the year while the eagles improve to 3-1. 
  • Women's Basketball Secure First Win of Season

    Fredericksburg, VA - The Virginia Wesleyan University Women’s Basketball team knocked off Wesley College 69-46 in the opening game of the Hyatt Place Tip-Off Tournament hosted by the University of Mary Washington.  It was the Marlins first win of the season and first year coach Liz Hudy’s first victory as a Marlin.
