Hull Picks Up Third "National Pitcher of the Week" Recognition of the Year

LOUISVILLE, KY. - After yet another impressive week, Hanna Hull of the Virginia Wesleyan University softball team has been named the Louisville Slugger/National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division III National Pitcher of the Week for the week ending on April 1, 2018.

This is the third time this season she has received this recognition and the sixth time in her short career as a Marlin.

Hull showed no signs of slowing down this week as the sophomore racked up a 5-0 record with one save over her six appearances. In 26.1 innings dealing from the circle, Hull fanned 42 batters while only allowing 15 total hits. She also allowed zero earned runs and only a single unearned run over that stretch.

This season, Hull currently ranks first in the country in total strikeouts (166) and second in the country in total victories (17).

Hull and the rest of the marlin softball squad will look to keep their perfect season (26-0) going as the team hosts Emory & Henry for a doubleheader beginning at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. This will also be the the day of the annual 'Strikeout Cancer" event which is a fundraiser to raise awareness for cancer.
