Men's Swimming Falls at Home to Salisbury

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – The Virginia Wesleyan University men's swim team fell, 166-67, Saturday afternoon to Salisbury University in a meet swam at the Jane P. Batten Natatorium. With the result, the Marlins move to 1-5 in dual meets this season.

Kyle Woolf got things going for the Marlin squad as his first place finish in the 50-yard breaststroke garnered nine team points. The senior clocked a 31.39, which was under a half second slower than the current school record. Sticking with the short distance races, another seven points came from Tyler Strong and Caleb Royce in the 50yd free. Strong placed second with a time of 22.85 while Royce was next to touch the wall with a time of 23.26.

In the 200yd free, Max Currens picked up nine points as he was just four seconds off his personal best with a time of 2:06.82.

Women's swimming returns to the pool at 12 p.m. on Saturday for day one of the Randolph-Macon Invite.
