Men's Soccer Unable to Get Past Bridgewater

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – The Virginia Wesleyan University men's soccer team fell, 3-0, to Bridgewater Wednesday evening at the Trinder Center. With the loss, the Marlins move to 1-7 on the season and 1-2 in conference play. Bridgewater improves to 6-2 on the season and 3-0 in the ODAC.

The Marlins found themselves in hole early as Bridgewater was able to get on the scoreboard in the 16th minute. Ron Rosales had a solid opportunity to tie it in the late minutes but his shot was tipped over the crossbar.

The Marlins found no luck in the second either. Down 2-0, Ricky Perrault muscled past a defender and took a shot at the goal with the keeper closing down on him. The ball slid just wide of the post though and the Marlins came away with the loss.

Griffin Potter picked up six saves on the night before being replaced by Walter Morris in the 78th minute.

Men's soccer will return to action at 1 p.m. on Saturday as the team travels to Randolph for another conference showdown.
