Men's Golf Places 15th in Season Opener

HARRISONBURG, Va. – The Virginia Wesleyan University men's golf team wrapped up its time at the two-day Tom Kinder Memorial Tournament on Tuesday played at Lakeview Golf Course. The Marlins shot a 327 (+39) on day two, giving them a final score of 643 (+67) and placing them 15th overall.

Taylor Cunningham and Noah Phillips both tallied the Marlin squad's low marks on the day as each golfer finished as +7's (79). Due to a lower day one score, Cunningham claimed 35th overall, using two second round birdies to help. Phillips finished the tournament in a tie for 56th.

In a tie for 80th overall was Beau Janousek and Jackson Lyons as each player finished +24 over the two days. Noah Hughes rounded things out, coming in 86th with a two-round score of +28.

Men's golf will return to action again on Sunday for the Ted Keller Memorial in Glen Allen, Va.
