BROWNS SUMMIT, N.C. – The Virginia Wesleyan University men's golf team finished ninth at the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Championship Tuesday afternoon played at Bryan Park Champions Course. The team shot its lowest total of the three days (326), to earn them a team score of 984 (+38).
Keith Cooper was the Marlins top finisher, placing ninth in the field of 60 golfers. The senior shaved six strokes off his round two score as he turned in a 74 (+2) on the day. He birdied hole four and then eagled five while picking up a pair of birdies on the back nine. His three-day total of 226 had him at a (+10) for the tournament.
Behind him was Taylor Cunningham, who placed 41st after the three rounds. Cunningham shot an 82 (+10) in his final round, giving him a 249 (+33) overall. Stone Skeeter was the next highest finisher using his 83 (+11) in the final round to push his score up to a 253 (+37) overall. That score would put the senior in a tie for 46th.
Rounding out the Marlin squad was Noah Phillips who finished in a tie for 48th with a three day total of 257 (+41) and Jackson Lyson, who placed 53rd with a three round total of 262 (+46).
