Men's Golf In Eighth After Day One of ODAC Championships

BROWN SUMMIT, N.C. - The Virginia Wesleyan University men's golf team sits in eighth place after round one of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Championships played at Bryan Park Champions Course. The team combined for a team score of 327, giving them a +39 on the day. Leading the pack is Guilford who shot a 292 (+4).

Topping the board for the Marlins was Keith Cooper, who finished the day with a 38 which was even with par. The senior shot under par on three different holes, including an eagle on six. Cooper's score placed him in a tie for third in the 60 player field.

Taylor Cunningham and Noah Phillips turned in the next two scorecards on the day, both sitting in a tie for 39th. The pair had nearly identical days shooting 40 on the front and 44 on the back nine to give a total of 84 (+12).

Behind those two was Jackson Lyons whose 87 (+15) tied him for 47th and Stone Skeeter whose 88 (+16) put him in a tie for 49th.

Men's golf will return to action again on Monday morning as they compete in Day Two of the ODAC Championship.
