Two Marlins Named ODAC Player of the Week
FOREST, Va. -- Sophomore men's golfer Carter Morgan and women's cross country senior Marissa Coombs were named Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Players of the Week for their respective sports as the league announced its weekly awards were announced on Monday.
Morgan, a sophomore from Tappahannock, Va., was the top ODAC finisher at the Ted Keller Memorial as he tied for fifth overall. Morgan fired rounds of 76 and 73 to finish at 9-over 149 on the par 70 layout set to 6,624 yards at Hanover Country Club. His efforts helped Virginia Wesleyan to third in the team standings at 603 (301-302), the best of five ODAC teams in action.
Coombs, a senior from Newton, N.J., picks up her second weekly award of the season after placing 17th overall out of 239 finishing competitors at the Inter-Regional Border Battle hosted by Rowan University.
