Q and A with Marlin of the Week Carter Morgan
VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. -- The Virginia Wesleyan University athletic department showcases a question and answer feature with our Marlin of the Week. The seventh student-athlete selected this year is men's golf sophomore Carter Morgan.
Morgan finished tied for fifth at the Ted Keller Memorial this past week, the top ODAC competitor in the tournament. He shot a two-day 149 (+9), including a second-round 73 (+3) to climb into third place.
1. Why did you choose Virginia Wesleyan University?
I chose Virginia Wesleyan because of the location and the successful golf program.
2. How did it feel to shoot a 73 on the second day to climb into fifth place on the individual leader board?
It felt great to hit the ball a little better than the first round. I was just really trying to rally the team together to possibly get the win.
3. The team finished third at the Ted Keller Memorial, behind only Gettysburg College and Franklin & Marshall College. What makes this team special as it builds toward the spring season?
This team has all the potential in the world and we are finally starting to put the pieces together. It's exciting to see everyone playing solid golf and I am really looking forward to the rest of the season.
4. What are your aspirations after graduation?
After graduation I would like to own my own business.
