Offense Clicks as Volleyball Picks Up ODAC Victory

FERRUM, Va. - The Virginia Wesleyan University volleyball team dropped Ferrum, 3-1 (23-25, 25-20, 25-14, 25-19), on the road Friday evening. With the victory the Marlins improve to 11-7 overall and 6-2 in conference play. Ferrum drops to 8-11 on the season (0-7 ODAC). 

 
It was a big night for the offense as three players left the gymnasium with double-digit kills. Doneisha Hall had a terrific night, driving home a career-high 21 kills at a clip of .390. Amber Matalus and Kristina Scott both pitched in as well, registering 11 and 10 kills, respectively
 
Also having a day offensively was setter Megan Wood. The junior collected 45 assists, eclipsing her personal best (set earlier this season against Shenandoah) by six.
 
In the back row, Sarah Brush and Alyssa Taylor both held their own, recording 12 digs a piece. 
 
At the net, Sydney Collins continued to prove a valuable defensive asset in the middle, assisting on a team-high three blocks.
 
Volleyball will have short rest as the team picks up again at 12 p.m. on Saturday as it heads to Roanoke.
