Women's Swimming Improves to 10th in Final Day of ODACs

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Virginia Wesleyan University women's swim team finished the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Championships in 10th place. The team amassed 61 points over the three day meet.

The Marlins had a successful final day at the ODAC Championships, breaking multiple school records. Amanda Waller go things going as she broke the record in the 200yd backstroke with a time of 2:35.91. Hayley Heath followed that up with another program record as she dropped her own previous mark to 1:03.16 in the 100yd free. She would then drop that time later in the relays by 1:02.27. Miah Kurtz (1:11.92), Jordan McCowan (1:12.40), Shayna Anthony (1:14.63) and Cherhon Davis-Pearson (1:17.27) all set new personal bests in that event as well. Adding to the new school record was Taylor Morcih who dropped 22 seconds off the record in the 1650yd free with a time of 23:42.51.

Record-breaking performances trickled into the relays as well as Heath, Kurtz, Anthony and MCowan teamed up to set a time of 4:40.59 in the 400yd free relay. the team would finish out the meet up with a 10th place finish in the 400yd free relay, a team consisting of Heath, Davis-Pearson, Kurtz and McCowan
