Women's Swimming Drops Contest at Salisbury
SALISBURY, Md. - The Virginia Wesleyan University women's swimming team fell to Salisbury University by a final score of 123-80.
 
Taylor Morich got the Marlins on the board with a 2:52.30 finish in the 200m Freestyle. Miah Kurtz (44.21) and Jordan McCowan (45.24) both earned points in the 50m Backstroke. Amanda Waller came in 3rd place in the 50m Breaststroke finishing with a time of 44.30.
 
Hayley Heath was the Marlins top finisher in the 50m Freestyle with a time of 32.94 while Waller was not too far behind her finishing in 33.15. Heath also topped the competition in the 50m Butterfly in 36.09, Jordan McCowan took home a first place finish in the 100m Backstroke with a time of 1:59.52. Morich also secured first place in the 400m Freestyle finishing in 6:07.34. The 200m Freestyle Relay team consisting of Morich, McCowan, Cheron Davis-Pearson and Morgan Lucas took the top spot finishing in 2:33.37 to earn the Marlins 11 points.
 
VWU returns to the pool after the new year on Jan. 12 for a home meet against Ferrum at 10a.m.
