FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The Virginia Wesleyan University women's swimming team has been named a NCAA Division III Scholar All-American Team by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America.
To receive this recognition, a team must hold a combined Grade-Point Average of a 3.00 or higher through the 2018 spring semester. In just their first year as a team, the Marlins have made the list as they held a 3.11 at the end of the academic year. Three team members hold a GPA of over a 3.60 led by sophomore swimmer, Miah Kurtz, who holds a 3.89.
It was a solid opening campaign for the newly formed women's swim team with the squad as it picked up three dual-meet victories and placed 10th at the ODAC Championships.
