Women's Soccer Upended In ODAC Championship Final

BRIDGEWATER, Va. - The fourth-seeded Virginia Wesleyan University women's soccer team fell, 3-0, to #3 Lynchburg in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Championship Final Sunday afternoon. With the result, the Marlins most likely conclude their season with a record of 11-4-4, going 7-0-4 in conference play.

It was a difficult beginning for the Marlins as the Hornets squeaked an early one in, just under two minutes into the game. The defense would settle in after that, maintaining just a one goal deficit going into the half. In the second stanza, the offense just couldn't get going while the Hornets piled in two more to seal the win.

Alex Davidson had a pair of shots that reached the target during the game, but both were stopped by the Lynchburg keeper. Anna Pedicone would also register a shot on goal but that too was dealt with.

Tristen Roberts stopped four Lynchburg shots on the day, but was saddled with the loss (11-4-4).
