Quick Goals Give Women's Soccer Trouble Against No. 6 Johns Hopkins

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - The nationally-ranked Virginia Wesleyan University women's soccer team fell, 3-0, to No. 6 Johns Hopkins University Friday evening on the campus of Christopher Newport University. With the loss, the Marlins move to 2-2 on the season while Johns Hopkins jumps to 3-1.

Both teams played conservitavely, with only a few shots reaching the target in the first half. Hopkins struck first though, scoring just before the whistle for halftime. The team then capitalized on that momentum coming out of the intermission tagging the Marlins for two more goals over the first seven minutes of the second half.

Offense came from Alex Davidson, Camryn Terry and Ryan McCurry who each registered a shot on target.

Women's soccer will have the rest of the weekend off, hitting the playing field again at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday as the team travels back to Newport News, Va. this time to face Christopher Newport.
