Women's Lacrosse Drops Road Contest to No. 1 Washington and Lee

LEXINGTON, Va. - The Virginia Wesleyan University women's lacrosse team fell, 25-2, to No. 1 Washington and Lee University Friday morning on the road. With the loss, the Marlins move to 7-7 on the season and 3-4 in conference action. The Generals improve to 13-2 on the year and remain unbeaten in ODAC play (7-0).

In a rain-filled contest Washington and Lee flexed its offense throughout the game, putting in the game's first 14 goals. Tori Manahan stopped the run at the 5:37 mark as she cashed in her 32 of the year. The Marlins would trail 15-1 going into the intermssion. Ashley Campos netted the Marlins only other score as she cashed the second half's first goal 4:20 into the stanza.

Despite the loss, Alyssa Bernal had a solid day on the draw, controlling a season-high six on the day.

Women's lacrosse returns to action again at 5 p.m. on Wednesday as the team travels to Lynchburg for a game against the Hornets.
