Women's Golf Takes Third at Shenandoah Shootout

FRONT ROYAL, Va. – The Virginia Wesleyan University women's golf team placed third at the Shenandoah Shootout over the weekend, played at Shenandoah Valley Golf Club. The team turned in a 1.5 round total of 544 for a +116.

It was a freshman who took the top spot for the first time this year as Ashlee Bobzin produced the low score. She shot an 86 over the first 18 holes and finished with a 40 in the final nine. Her total of 128 (+21) earned her fourth overall.

Right behind her were Maggie Kingora and Hannah Turner, who shot the exact same both days. The pair turned in an 86 on day one before grinding out a 45 on day two. The two would sit in a three-way tie for sixth. Rounding out the squad was Sarah Conley who placed 16th. The first year shot a 102 on day one before ending with a 52 on the final nine.

Women's golf now gears up for the ODAC Championship which will begin on Sunday and span three days. The event will take place at Bryan Park in Greensboro, N.C.
