Early Struggles Hinder Marlins in Loss to Stockton

GALLOWAY, N.J. – The Virginia Wesleyan University women's basketball team fell, 73-46 to Stockton University on the road Monday evening. With the loss, the Marlins fall to 3-7 on the season while Stockton improves to 6-3.

The Marlins found themselves down early and were unable to find a way to claw back into the game. Jayla Harris was the squad's top scorer, cashing in 15 on the night. Amanda Gerni would pitch in eight and Mak McSweeney seven.

Underneath the hoop, Naeemah Morris tied her season high in rebounds with 10. McSweeney also performed well as she collected seven.

Women's basketball will return to action at 2 p.m. on New Year's Eve (Dec. 31) as the team hosts Christopher Newport University.
