NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - The Virginia Wesleyan University Men's indoor track and field team found themselves back at Christopher Newport University for the second week in a row as they competed in the Vince Brown Invitational on Sunday. The team competed against several teams including a couple Division 1 teams.
Curtis Dudley would continue his season of dominance in the 60m as he finished first in a field of 43 runners with a time of 7.13. In the hurdles, Freshman Dan Johnson set a season best while Landry Moffo advanced to the finals where he finished 3rd overall out of a field of 21 runners and had the top DIII finish of the meet. Over on the distance side, the Marlins had a huge day as Ethan Cravens, Christian Roden, and Trey Massey set personal records.
Another strong performance from Freshman Coby Cockrell as he sets a huge personal best in the weight throw of 15.03m to reclaim the weight throw record previously set by teammate Quentin Webert last weekend en route to a 3rd place finish out of a field of 22.
Men's indoor track and field will compete once again this upcoming Friday and Saturday as they travel to the Virginia Military Institute for the VMI Winter Relays.
