    VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - The top-ranked Virginia Wesleyan University softball team concluded its regular season with a pair of wins against Emory & Henry Sunday afternoon at Marlin Park. The Marlins picked up a 3-1 win over the Wasps in game one before downing them again, 6-1. With the victories, the Marlins finish the year with an ODAC record of 17-1, securing the regular season conference title and the top seed in the upcoming ODAC Championship.

The Marlins downed the Eagles, 5-3, before using a comeback effort to seal a 3-1 victory in game two. With the wins, VWU sits at 37-1 on the season and 15-1 in ODAC play.

    VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - The No.1 Virginia Wesleyan University softball team took its first loss in over a year as the squad split its doubleheader with No. 4 Randolph-Macon Wednesday afternoon at Marlin Park. The Marlins took game one, 2-1, in extras before dropping game two by the same score. With the results, VWU goes to 35-1 overall and 13-1 in conference action. Randolph-Macon moves to 31-3 on the season (10-2 ODAC).

Hanna Hull and Madison Glaubke of the softball team, were named the conference Pitcher and Player of the Week, respectively, and Kevin Duffy took home the Men’s Golfer of the Week honors.

    WINCHESTER, Va. - The No. 1 Virginia Wesleyan University softball team turned in another two wins as they didn’t allow Shenandoah a single run during the sweep Sunday afternoon on the road. The Marlins collected a 7-0 victory in game one before earning a 12-0 shutout in game two. With the wins, VWU’s record remains perfect at 34-0 and 12-0 in conference play. The Hornets drop to 11-21 on the season (2-12 ODAC).

    LYNCHBURG, Va - The No. 1 Virginia Wesleyan University softball team did not change its pace one bit as it shut out Randolph twice Saturday afternoon on the road. The Marlins churned out a 3-0 win in game one before taking a 12-0 victory in game two. With the wins, VWU moves to 32-0 on the year and increase its win streak to 38 straight dating back to last season. Randolph goes to 12-18 on the year and 5-8 in ODAC play.

    NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - The top ranked Virginia Wesleyan University softball team took down #4 Christopher Newport University in both games of a doubleheader Wednesday night. The Marlins upended the Captains, 11-1, in game one before edging them again 5-4 in game two. With the wins, VWU’s streak moves to 30-straight and the team remains undefeated on the season (30-0). CNU slides to 21-5 on the year.

Both games ended in five innings, with the Marlins topping the Quakers 9-0 in the first and 10-1 in the second. With the wins, VWU improves to 28-0 on the year and 8-0 in conference play.

This is coming on the heels of both being selected as Players of Week in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC).

The squad came back in game one to down the University of Rochester, 14-6, before shutting out #9 Texas Lutheran, 5-0.

THe squad downed #13 East Texas Baptist University, 10-2, before taking down Birmingham Southern College, 18-3, in the day’s second game. With those two victories, the team’s record is now 12-0 on the year.

The squad took down William Paterson University, 16-4, before defeating #17 Moravian College, 2-1, in extra innings.

The Marlins shut out the Battling Bishops 5-0 in game one and took them down again, 4-2, in game two. Game two was halted after 6.1 innings due to lack of sunlight, but still met the requirement of a full game.
