Men's Swimming Drops Home Contest to Bridgewater

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – The Virginia Wesleyan University men's swim team fell, 109-65, to Bridgewater Saturday afternoon at home. With the result, the Marlins are now 1-3 in dual meets against ODAC opponents.

Tyler Strong had a successful day in the pool as he came away with three top finishes. The freshman dominated the short track backstroke races, placing first in the 100-yd backstroke (1:00.49) and the 200-yd back (2:13.27). Strong also claimed the top spot in the 100-IM as he swam it in a time of 59.66.

Also chipping in with a first-place victory was Max Currens in the 500-yard free. Currens touched the wall in 6:03.96, more than 34 seconds faster than the next finisher. The freshman also scooped the team four points in the 1650yd free as his time of 21:37.75 was good enough for second place.

Men's swimming returns to the pool at 1 p.m. on Saturday as the squad will travel to Randolph for another dual meet.
