LYNCHBURG, Va. - The Virginia Wesleyan University men's soccer team fell, 2-1, to Randolph on the road Saturday evening. With the loss, the team slides to 1-8 on the year and 1-3 in conference play.
Randolph took control early, gathering one goal in the first half and then doubling up with another in the second. Ricky Perrault cut the lead in half though as the senior netted his third goal of the year in the 80th minute.
Despite the loss, the Marlins outshot the WildCats 12-6 (6-4 SOG).
Griffin Potter was saddled with the loss, stopping two opposing shots on the evening.
Men's soccer returns to action at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday as the team hosts a non-conference battle with Christopher Newport University at the Trinder Center.
