Men's Soccer Upended By Mary Washington on the Road

ARLINGTON, Va. - The Virginia Wesleyan University men's soccer team dropped its contest to the University of Mary Washington, 4-0, Wednesday afternoon on the road. WIth the loss, the Marlins move to 0-3 on the season while Mary Washington goes to 3-0.

A quick start from the Eagles put the Marlins in an early hole as they scored two over the first seven minutes. The home side would cash in one more before the half, as the Marlins headed into the intermission down 3-0. Virginia Wesleyan was unable to answer in the second while the Eagles added an insurance goal to solidify the win.

Shaun Brooks and Ricky Perrault both put a ball on target but the chances were stopped by the keeper.

Justin Acey played the first 67:25, stopping four shots but allowing three goals. Griffin Potter would relieve him, making one stop.

Men's soccer returns to action on at 2 p.m. on Saturday as the squad will square off against St. Mary's College (Md.) in the first game of the Seahawk Classic.
