Marlins drop 2-0 decision at North Carolina Wesleyan

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. -- Fourteen shots and nine corner kicks gave Virginia Wesleyan College's soccer Marlins the offensive opportunites they needed in Wednesday's non-conference men's game at North Carolina Wesleyan College.

But, nothing hit the mark for the Marlins, who dropped a 2-0 decision to the host Bishops.  NCWC scored both of its goals in the second half, both scored by Vincent DeLaCueva

Ryan Zmuda (Virginia Beach/Princess Anne) recorded six saves for the Marlins (3-4-1).  Alberto Faisca posted nine saves for NCWC (2-3-3).

VWC returns to competition on Saturday, Sept. 24, in Old Dominion Athletic Conference play at league-leading Roanoke College (5-2-1) at 1 p.m.
