SUFFOLK, Va. – The Virginia Wesleyan University men's golf team placed 12th at the Virginia State Golf Association (VSGA) Intercollegiate Tuesday afternoon at Sleepy Hole Golf Course. The team turned in a team score of 332, giving them a two-day score of 673 (+87).
Taylor Cunningham led the way for the Marlins, turning day two' lowest scorecard. The sophomore shot a 79 (+8), which put him in 28th overall. Keith Cooper fell in one stroke behind his teammate, but took the top spot after two days as his 155 (+11) put him in a tie for 21st.
Cameron MaClellan turned in the next lowest score card, bolstering an 84 which improved three strokes from his day one outing. Right behind him was Jackson Lyons who shot an 89 on day two. The pair would finish in 70th and 72nd, respectively.
