    LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Six Marlins on the Virginia Wesleyan University softball team were named to the 2019 Atlantic All-Region Teams by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA). Hanna Hull and Julia Sinnett both garnered a spot on the First Team, while Madison Glaubke was named to the Second Team. Rounding out the list were Carla Hall, Jessica Goldyn and Kaylah Duplain who all collected third team honors.

    VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — Virginia Wesleyan University has turned to veteran Averett University coach Liz Hudy as its next head women’s basketball coach. The Virginia Beach native will start at VWU on June 1, according to Tina Hill, Executive Director of Intercollegiate Athletics.

    FOREST, Va. – Three members of the Virginia Wesleyan University baseball team were named All-Conference members by the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) for their performance during the 2019 season. Jacob Pilarski and Jordan McDonough were both named to the First Team while Brady Fallon received Third Team honors.
  • Softball Bows Out of NCAA Regional Round

    VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – The No. 1 Virginia Wesleyan University team dropped both of its game against Lynchburg on Sunday and with the losses, have bowed out of the NCAA Division III Championship. The Marlins fell 7-4 game one before dropping game two 4-2. The Marlins conclude their season with a record of 42-6.
  • Lindsay's Walk Off Sends Softball to NCAA Regional Final

    VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - Jessica Lindsay played the role of hero as her walk off double brought home the sole run of No. 1 Virginia Wesleyan Unversity softball team’s win over Lynchburg Saturday morning in the NCAA Division III Regional Round. With the victory, the Marlins improved to 42-4 and have earned a spot in the Regional Round Final. That game will take place at 11 a.m. with the if necessary game to follow.   • Baseball Splits But Bows Out of ODACs with Loss to Macon

    SALEM, Va. - The Virginia Wesleyan University baseball team split its two games at the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Championship, bowing out of the tournament with a loss to Randolph-Macon in game two. The Marlins eliminated Roanoke from the Tournament with a 2-1 victory before falling to the Yellow Jackets by the same score. The Marlins finish their year with a record of 22-17.
  • Softball uses 11 Hits to Bypass Scranton in NCAA Opener

    VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - The No. 1 Virginia Wesleyan University softball team defeated the University of Scranton, 7-2, Friday evening in the first game of the NCAA Division III Regional Round. With the victory, the Marlins improve to 41-4, while Scranton drops to 32-14. This also means VWU has moved on to the winner’s bracket and will square off against Lynchburg at 10 a.m. tomorrow right back at TowneBank Park (Tom & Betty Broyles Field).
  • Baseball's Comeback Falls Short in ODAC Championship Second Round

    ASHLAND, Va. - The Virginia Wesleyan University baseball team fell, 4-2, to Randolph-Macon Thursday afternoon in the second round of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Championship. With the loss, the Marlins slide to 21-16 on the season and will go on to play the loser of Shenandoah and Roanoke at 11:30 a.m. on Friday.

  • Men's Tennis Earns Five All-ODAC Nods; Perry Earns COY Honors

    FOREST, Va. - The Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) released its 2019 Men’s Tennis All-Conference honorees on Tuesday which included six from Virginia Wesleyan University. The Marlins netted three 1st team singles, one 2nd team singles and one 2nd team doubles.  In addition, Head Coach Marty Perry and assistant Tom Rishcoff were honored for their hard work this season by receiving ODAC Coach of the Year for men’s tennis.
