FOREST, Va. – The Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) has announced its 2017-18 ODAC Sportsmanship Teams in each of the conference’s 24 sports. One member from each of Virginia Wesleyan’s 22 sports have been awarded this honor which is given to a player who exemplifies good sportsmanship in and out of their respective sport.

ASHLAND, Va. – The 2017-18 Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) Academic All-State Team was released and four Virginia Wesleyan University student athletes were recognized. Hanna Hull of the softball team, Zoe Traficante of women’s soccer, Emilee Pierson of volleyball and Jayla Harris of women’s basketball were all named to the All-Academic Team based on their performances in the classroom and in their respective sports.
TEMPE, Ariz. – Five members of the Virginia Wesleyan University women’s tennis squad and two from the men’s team have been named to the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-Academic honor roll. Jacklyn Cheely, Abigail Horgan, Kellen Phillips, Kristina Sabelstrom and Makayla Velic all made it from the women’s side while Andreas Combos and Adam Fairbanks both earned the honor on the men’s.

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – The National Champion Virginia Wesleyan University softball team came away with three of the four major honors for the Virginia Sports Information Directors All-State awards as Hanna Hull was named the Pitcher of the Year, Cassetty Howerin the Player of the Year and Coach Brandon Elliott the Coach of the Year. Joining them on the All-State honor roll is Madison Glaubke, who collected First Team honors and Kiersten Richardson with a spot on the Second Team.
