VIRGINIA BEACH, Va.—Virginia Wesleyan University’s Executive Director of Intercollegiate Athletics, Joanne Renn, will retire in June after 11 years as athletics director and 25 years total with the Marlins, VWU President Scott D. Miller announced today.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - The Virginia Wesleyan University baseball team earned two victories against #17 Methodist University Tuesday evening on the road. The squad took down the Monarchs, 6-4, in game one and sealed up a 12-4 victory in game two. With the wins, the Marlins go to 22-10 on the year while Methodist goes to 27-11.
VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Three Virginia Wesleyan University student athletes were recognized by the Old Dominion Athletic Conference for their performances over the week. Hanna Hull and Madison Glaubke of the softball team, were named the conference Pitcher and Player of the Week, respectively, and Kevin Duffy took home the Men’s Golfer of the Week honors.

SUFFOLK, Va. - The men’s and women’s golf teams shined at their home tournament, the Marlin Invite, Sunday afternoon at Sleepy Hole Golf Course. The men’s “A’ team claimed first place overall as the squad shot a combined score of 604. The men’s ‘B’ team nabbed fourth place, turning in a 656.
WINCHESTER, Va. - The No. 1 Virginia Wesleyan University softball team turned in another two wins as they didn’t allow Shenandoah a single run during the sweep Sunday afternoon on the road. The Marlins collected a 7-0 victory in game one before earning a 12-0 shutout in game two. With the wins, VWU’s record remains perfect at 34-0 and 12-0 in conference play. The Hornets drop to 11-21 on the season (2-12 ODAC).
