  • Men's Basketball Edges Ferrum in Regular Season Finale

    FERRUM, Va. – The Virginia Wesleyan University held on to earn a 77-75 victory over Ferrum Saturday afternoon on the road. With the win, the Marlins improve to 13-12 on the season and move to 11-5 in ODAC play. The win also secures the teams spot in the top six of the ODAC standings and the team will have to wait for other conference games to conclude to figure out what their seed in the ODAC Championship will be.

    LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Virginia Wesleyan University women’s basketball team defeated Randolph, 67-53, Saturday afternoon in the team’s regular season finale. With the win, the Marlins will take a record of 14-11 (11-7 ODAC) into the post season. That is good enough for the fifth seed in the ODAC Championship, meaning the team will take on fourth-seeded Randolph-Macon at 3 p.m. on Friday in the Salem Civic Center.

    RALEIGH, N.C. – The back-to back defending National Champion Virginia Wesleyan University softball team picked up right where it left off, downing Meredith in both games of a doubleheader Friday afternoon. The Marlins dropped the Angels 15-0 (5 Inn.) in game one before completing the sweep with a 9-0 (5 Inn.) win. With the result the VWU improves to 2-0 on the year while Meredith drops to 0-2.

Also receiving recognition was Skyler Lattuca of the men’s team, who earned individual Scholar Athlete honors.

Four Marlins scored in double figures with Lamont Steward dropping 23 points and Tim Fisher recording a double-double with 19 rebounds and 16 points.

    ASHLAND, Va. - The Virginia Wesleyan University women's basketball team fell, 68-62, to Randolph-Macon on the road Tuesday evening. With the result, the Marlins move to 13-11 on the season and go to 10-7 in conference action. Macon improves to 17-7 on the season (12-5 ODAC).

    LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Hanna Hull of the Virginia Wesleyan University softball team has been named one of 50 players in all of Division III to the Schutt Sports/National Fastpitch Association (NFCA) National Player of the Year watch. This is coming on the heels of her winning the National Player of the Year award in both 2017 and 2018.
