    Freshman pitcher Patrick Monteverde has been named State Rookie of the Year as the Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) announced the College Division All-State Baseball Teams on Tuesday. Justin Erby is a First Team All-State pick as Monteverde is joined on the second team by Brandon Kussmaul and Riley Koonce.

    The Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) has announced the 2017 College Division All-State Softball teams Thursday afternoon and the No. 1 Virginia Wesleyan softball team swept the major awards as five players were recognized. The five honors ties the 2014 and 2016 squads for the most Marlins on the All-State squad.

A committee from within the NCAA membership selected two student-athletes from the Old Dominion Athletic Conference, Julia Downing, as well as Sweet Briar's Kayla Kishbaugh.
