VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Max Currens of the Virginia Wesleyan University swim team has been named the Marlin of the Week for the week ending on January 13, 2019.
It was quite a day for freshman Currens as he topped the field in three different freestyle races. Currens opened the meet up with nine points in the 1000-yd free as his time of 12:01.59 also set a new Virginia Wesleyan University record. He then picked up a win in the 100-yd free with a time of 54.67, which set a personal record for the first year. To finish off the day Currens scooped nine points in the 500-yd free with a time of 5:53.20.
Men’s swimming hops back in the pool at 12 p.m. on Saturday as the squad hosts Bridgewater for their first home meet of 2019.
