VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Amanda Waller of the Virginia Wesleyan University women’s swim team has been named the Marlin of the Week for the week ending on Nov. 11, 2018.
Waller helped propel the women’s swim team to its second dual meet win of the year, taking down Sweet Briar 111-90 at home on Sunday.
The junior nabbed first in the 100-yard breaststroke, beating out all her competition with a time of 1:28.00. Before that race, she also collected a second place finish in the 200-yard freestyle as she clocked a time of 2:24.48.
Waller set a new Virginia Wesleyan University record as well, toppling her own in from last season. She swam a 6:39.13 in the 500-yard freestyle, setting the new benchmark for the Marlins. Waller now holds five individual program records as well as four relay records.
Women's swimming will be back in the pool on Dec. 1 as the team heads to Lexington,Va. For the two-day Washington and Lee Invite.
